I just love the idea that Dandee posted today about simplifying Christmas shopping. Everyone gets four gifts plus one from Santa. They get a want, a need, something to wear, and something to read. What a great idea!
We started limiting our christmas shopping to four gifts and one from Santa a few years ago. I love it. At first I felt bad not buying them "everything" but four gifts per kid fills up the tree just fine and they still have plenty to be excited about!
This is a cute idea. Have you tried it...or i should say, are you going to try it??? I guess you would really have to think about it for it to work...I mean, for your kids to get used to the idea!
Heather, I found your blog. I am so excited to keep in touch this way. Mine is blogginwiththeosborns.blogspot.com I enjoy your blog. itll be fun to check it for great ideas. Thx
We just implemented this into our Christmas this year. I had the kids go check the mail and there was a letter from Santa explaining how Christmas is going to work this year. I am excited and I think it will be a good change for our family. Thanks for sharing the idea!
Our Santa gives three gifts just like The three gifts that The wise men brought the savior. We as parents then give each kid an outfit, Book, and a surprise. (usually something they are in need of.) When I was a child my parents did this and told us if Christ received three gifts why would we expect more?? good point. Thanks for your suggestions.
